After admission to the bar in 1982, Mr. Burkhardt worked for a mid-sized regional law firm, ultimately becoming the managing attorney in their Washington, DC office.

In 1998, he struck out on his own, forming the Law Office of John K. Burkhardt, P.A. Since that time, his practice has concentrated on general litigation and consumer bankruptcy.

In his spare time (if such a thing exists) he is involved in coaching baseball with a local recreation council.
